Next

A marketplace record, not a scattered email thread.

The new LocatePreceptors experience keeps decisions attached to the request, limits actions by role and status, and records meaningful workflow changes.

01
Role-based access

Students, preceptors, and administrators see only the controls relevant to them.

02
Controlled status transitions

Protected payment and rotation stages cannot be changed through arbitrary status selection.

03
Signed email actions

Expiring, one-time links take recipients to a confirmation page instead of executing on open.

04
Connected communication

Request messages, status history, checkout, and notifications remain tied to the placement.

These answers explain the current marketplace workflow for students and preceptors.

Contact marketplace support
How do I request a specific preceptor?

Open the preceptor’s marketplace profile, create a placement request, and include your specialty, clinical hours, preferred dates, location, budget, and school requirements.

Can I submit an open request?

Yes. An open request can be shown to approved preceptors whose verified specialties match the selected clinical track.

What happens when a preceptor accepts?

The request moves to student checkout. The student receives an email and dashboard action to review the placement and continue to the Stripe-hosted payment page.

Does opening an email automatically approve or accept something?

No. Secure email links open a confirmation page. The recipient must review the information and submit the action, which helps prevent email scanners from triggering decisions.

Does LocatePreceptors store card or bank details?

Student card information is entered on Stripe Checkout. Preceptor payout onboarding is handled through Stripe Connect. LocatePreceptors stores marketplace references and status information rather than raw card or bank credentials.

Can a student or preceptor change every request status?

No. Status changes follow controlled transitions. Payment-held, rotation, completion, and dispute stages use their dedicated workflows or administrative review.
